NVIDIA GPUs: Powering innovations in design, production, marketing and sales
The Digital Manufacturing Summit at GTC took place on March 25-26, 2014 and provided an exciting forum for in-depth exploration of how NVIDIA's GPUs are driving innovation across automotive, aerospace, apparel, architecture-engineering-construction, and consumer products. Sessions highlighted working examples from actual customers discussing and demonstrating technology trends, such as photorealistic ray-tracing, immersive experiences, remote visualization, virtualizing CAD software, and the impact of mobile platforms.
Benoit Deschamps and Alain Gonzalez will describe how PSA Peugeot Citroen's IT department improved HMI Design workflow by sharing their experiences with tools, efficient workflows and hardware for designing, evaluating and simulating Human Machine Interfaces in new car models.
Tyler Blake, Design Manager, Ford Motor Company, has been instrumental in the designs of several award-winning concept cars and best-selling production vehicles such as the F150 and Edge. Most recently, he played a key role in the exterior design of the 2015 Mustang. Tyler's talk will provide an overview of digital workflow in an automotive design studio and how NVIDIA graphics cards are used in every aspect of his next generation design process.
Daniel Simon career encompasses design work at Volkswagen's advanced studio in Spain and the role of Senior Designer for Bugatti Automobiles. His best-selling 2007 book 'Cosmic Motors' set new standards for automotive visualization and concept design. With his brand new book series, 'The Timeless Racer', Simon takes us on a visual journey to explore a racing world as it could have existed between 1916 and 2615, entirely rendered on NVIDIA GPUs.
Attendees of the summit discovered:
- How design engineering and AEC companies are using advanced computer graphics at all stages of the product development life cycle, from concept to design and marketing
- How analytical simulations and photorealistic rendering can minimize physical prototypes
- How advances in desktop hardware, cloud solutions, remoting and mobile platforms are speeding up the design lifecycle
- Business Unit GMs
- Engineering Managers
- CAD Group Managers
- Visualization Group Mangers
- Sr. Designers
